Loft Project ETAGI is the multifunctional art space in the centre of Saint Petersburg. The total exhibition area is 5000 square meters. This is the only place in the city where contemporary art is being exhibited in such a large scale. The cultural centre is the pioneer of loft design in Saint Petersburg. It occupies a five story building which was a former bakery "Smolninskij khlebozavod" that was opened on the base of small half-artisan bakeries. Many of the interior elements of the old factory were preserved, such as concrete pillars with metal edges, a drilling machine and bread baking equipment.
These old elements have been enhanced with modern designer additions. The original factory floor of cast iron blocks now has bright red joints along with glass windows. Antique furniture, luxury trimming and many snazzy details complement the original features.
Today Loft Project ETAGI consolidates 2 contemporary art galleries (Formula Gallery, Fotowall SVETOSILA), 4 exhibitional areas (Seriy Coridor, Beliy Coridor, Prostranstvo Pyatyi Etaj, reception area of Location Hostel on 3rd floor), Green Room Café and "Biblioteka Proektor" bookshop.
