Loft Project ETAGI / Calendar / World Press Photo 2010

200 prize-winning entries of the annual award in the area of photojournalism World Press Photo from the 26th of August to the 15th of September have been exposed in Loft Project ETAGI, Katushki Space, for the first time after 4 years.

The most prestigeous contest of photojournalists in the world — World Press Photo Awards — is organized by World Press Photo Foundation, that works in Netherlands since 1955. After the annual contest and announcing winners, the exposition goes on the tour. In 2010 you can see it more than at one hundred grounds in many countries of the world. The exposition reflects the most important affairs of the previous year.

Every year the independent jury composed of professional photographers and photo editors of the medias appraised works by condenders presented by photojournalists, agencies, newspapers and magazines from all-around the world in 9 different categories. This year during 2 weeks of work jury members viewed the record quantity of photos — more than 100 000. 5 847 photographers from 128 countries participated in the contest.

The project is supported by the General Consulate of the Netherlands in the framework of the program “Window to the Netherlands”.
